The YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids is a Membership Organization open to all people. Through the generosity of donors, we are able to provide programs and services to those who may not otherwise be able to participate. Financial assistance, to the extent possible, is available to those in need. The mission of the YMCA is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. We take those last two words very seriously…for all.

If you cannot afford the full cost of a YMCA program or membership, you may apply for financial assistance. Financial assistance, to the extent possible, is available to those in need. You may ask for a confidential assistance application at any local YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids. All YMCA members receive the same membership benefits,regardless of scholarship assistance.

How to Apply
Stop by the member services department at the branch nearest you. To process your
application, we need the following information:

• Copy of last year’s tax return
• Copy of current pay stub or
• Copy of social security or disability check
