IMPACTING THE LIVES OF CHILDREN, FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES
The Y is more than a gym or fitness center. We are a community that encourages our members to grow, learn and improve their lives. Some very special people have allowed the Y to positively change their well-being.

Jason St.Clair Spartan Stores YMCA memberAfter being faced with a major health issue, I decided it was time to take control of my health. My wife Jena wanted to lose some of her weight, so it was easy work on our health as a family. A dietician helped me learn healthy eating habits to share with my family. We also joined the Spartan Stores Y where we walked the track and treadmill, and lifted weights. Now, I can run around the track and Jena can keep up in Zumba class! We believe investing in our bodies for the long run. The Y is helping us do this.

Ralffi Salas David D. Hunting YMCA memberBasketball is a major part of my life and I come every chance I get. I have made a lot of friends this way and enjoy being able to play my favorite sport with them. The Y has been a part of my life for 6 years. I started working as a referee for some sports leagues but now I just come to play basketball and work out. I strongly believe in the values the YMCA represent. There is good equipment, and it is a kid-friendly place.

Joe Bistayi Southeast YMCA memberPhysically, the Y has many opportunities to stay fit. My wife takes advantage of Pilates and Aerobic classes and I like to use the weight room. Emotionally, the Y gives my wife and me a chance to connect with each other and other people. Mentally, it is good for us to stay active to maintain mental wellbeing.

Joe Camp David D. Hunting YMCA memberI use the Y for cardio and weight training, and work hard to maintain my health and wellbeing. The Y is more than just a gym; it’s a community that welcomes everyone. I appreciate that there is no elitism at the Y; it’s a non-threatening atmosphere available to all walks of life.
