$1.5 Million Kellogg Grand Awarded to GRYMCA

Grand Rapids, MI – Armed with a whopping $1.4 plus million grant from the Kellogg Foundation, the largest Kellogg grant ever received by the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids, the Y will be conducting total urban warfare on obesity. With an elite force of 15 new full and part time staff, the YMCA’s strategy is to fight obesity by implementing the most comprehensive street by street fight ever undertaken by any fitness and wellness organization in the history of Kent County.

GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN- YMCA of the USA (Y-USA) and HUGGIES® Little Swimmers® Brand, a product of the Kimberly-Clark Corporation, have awarded seven branches of the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids $1,000 each to expand the reach of their parent/child water enrichment programs in the Greater Grand Rapids community.

YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids awarded $15,000 from Sam’s Club ‘Giving Made Simple’ Campaign

GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN-The YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids has received a grant of $15,000 from Sam’s Club to enhance programs designed to help teens prepare for and achieve higher education. The award is part of a $1 million gift to YMCA of the USA (Y-USA), the resource office for the nation’s 2,687 Ys, for placing first in the education category of the Sam’s Club “Giving Made Simple” online campaign, conducted earlier this year.

Join the YMCA Holiday Hoopla

GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN. – The David D. Hunting YMCA will be hosting a Holiday Hoopla Santa Day event on Saturday, December 18th from 10am-1pm.
This fun filled day will include getting pictures taken with Santa, making a holiday craft, and eating cookies with hot chocolate.
This event will also be the kick-off of the YMCA Hat and Mitten Project everyone is encouraged to bring new or gently used hats and mittens to hang on the tree to be donated to local children.
