ANNUAL GIVING CAMPAIGN
When you give to the Y, you strengthen our community.
Strong Kids Campaign
The Strong Kids Campaign is our annual fundraising effort that enables us to provide financial support to our neighbors in our community – so that everyone has the opportunity to belong. We are made up of people of all ages, faiths, and abilities all working side-by-side to ensure that everyone, regardless of gender, income or background, has the opportunity to live life to its fullest. Your gift to the Y makes this possible.
The Y is, and always will be, committed to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living, and fostering a sense of social responsibility. You can support our mission and make a difference in the lives of others by making a donation to the annual Strong Kids Campaign. It’s easy, just click on the Donate Now! button or contact or the YMCA Development Department at 475 Lake Michigan Drive NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504 or call the number to the left.

Lysandra Southeast YLysandra had plenty of excuses not to get healthy. As a single mother of two there’s just no time, money, or energy. One day, Lysanda broke down in tears when she saw a photo of herself and realized how unhealthy she’d become. She recalled her children’s involvement at the Southeast Y and decided to take a big step and check out the Y for herself. Soon Lysandra was on her way to a healthier life with a family membership at the Y supported by the Strong Kids Campaign. She started slowly, beginning on a treadmill and with lots of hard work, she confidently entered into group exercise classes. She then progressed onto the lap pool, not allowing her fear of water to stand in her way. Lysandra now says a triathlon is somewhere in her future. A future that‘s looking very bright for her and her family thanks to the Y and the Strong Kids Campaign.

Eze Visser YMCA MemberEze’s been a part of the YMCA family since 2005.
During day camps, Eze takes trips to Camp Manitou-Lin, scales rock climbing walls, and even visits places like Binder Park Zoo, just to name a few. Eze’s mother says it wouldn’t be possible for her to finish her education or for Eze to have these life enriching experiences if it wasn’t for the support of the Visser Family YMCA and Strong Kids.
