HORSE OVERNIGHT

Completed Grades 2nd-8th, Co-Ed

If you are looking for a more in-depth riding experience and love to spend time riding horses, this camp is for you. Getting to know horses and learning to care for, and feed them is all part of the fun. Campers will be placed in groups according to their experience level – from beginner to advanced – and will participate in daily riding lessons. Lessons include learning and/or refining English and Western Styles, with opportunities for trail, vaulting, round penning, roping, driving, and much more. Includes an equine-related trip or guest speaker. If you love horses, this is the ultimate equestrian experience!

WRANGLER-IN-TRAINING

Completed Grades 9th-10th, Co-Ed

Interested in working with our horse programs as a future staff member someday? Develop the good character qualities, service learning, and servant leadership needed to take the next step toward your goal in this two-week leadership development program. This is a must if you’d like to be a Horse Instructor-In-Training. The two-week program is focused on fun and leadership training the first week, with horseback instruction and skills the second week.

An introduction to becoming a horse camp counselor, our two-week program focuses on important counselor skills and working with horses and children. This is the second step to becoming a YMCA Camp Manitou-Lin Horseback Staff Member.
