HORSE OVERNIGHT

Completed Grades 2nd-8th, Co-Ed

For the true horse enthusiasts, our overnight summer horse camp offers campers that have completed grades 2nd -8th , will get the opportunity to fully immerse them themselves in ranch life for the week. From beginner to advance riders, campers are placed in groups according to the experience level and participate in riding lessons daily. Lessons include learning and/ or refining both English and Western styles with opportunities for trail rides, vaulting, roping, driving and much more. For those entering 10th grade or higher, we offer leadership camps that will help you develop your skills even further. If you love horses, this is the ultimate equestrian experience!

WRANGLER-IN-TRAINING

Completed Grades 9th-10th, Co-Ed

Interested in working with our horse programs as a future staff member someday? Develop the good character qualities, service learning, and servant leadership needed to take the next step toward your goal in this two-week leadership development program. This is a must if you’d like to be a Horse Instructor-In-Training. The two-week program is focused on fun and leadership training the first week, with horseback instruction and skills the second week.

HORSE INSTRUCTOR-IN-TRAINING (HIT)

Completed Grades 10th-11th, Co-Ed

An introduction to becoming a horse camp counselor, our two-week program focuses on important counselor skills and working with horses and children. This is the second step to becoming a YMCA Camp Manitou-Lin Horseback Staff Member.
