Every 65 seconds someone in the U.S. develops the disease. Worldwide, 50 million people are living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. Growing evidence links heart health and brain health. The Y and the Alzheimer’s Association have joined together to create LiveWise™, a program to provide exercise and educational opportunities for individuals in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementias and their care partners.
IT’S ABOUT HEALTH
LiveWise™ is a program that builds confidence and hope for individuals who are experiencing early stage Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or other memory impairments and their care partners.
Over an eight week program you will focus on:
- Healthy Eating
- Safe Physical Activities
- Managing Stress
- Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia
- Care Partner Support
- Quality of Life
- Community Resources
- Understanding Grief
The eight week program consists of two-hour weekly classes that include 45 minutes of physical activity followed by a one-hour education program covering a wide range of topics.
