LOOP After School Learning Centers
The YMCA partners with Grand Rapids Public Schools to offer the LOOP program, which provides elementary and middle school students a safe, engaging place to grow both individually and academically.
Our community’s children are tomorrow’s leaders. The Y believes that all children have innate potential, and is committed to closing the achievement gaps that jeopardizes the success of our community’s most vulnerable children. The LOOP After School program is one program that helps children close that gap.
LOOP After School Learning Centers meets out-of school time needs by offering after school programs free of charge, and a place where youth cultivate the values, skills and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health and academic achievement.
LOOP staff are certified teachers that provide each child academic support through tutoring, homework assistance, and academic enrichment. The Y collaborates to provide an array of activities including recreation, arts and culture, field trips and more during critical after-school hours at the following sites:
