Grand Rapids, MI, November 29 – Today, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm, the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids will present the Hour of Impact Luncheon at the JW Marriott Hotel in Downtown Grand Rapids. This fundraising event will take place on Giving Tuesday, giving guests the opportunity to learn about the incredible impact of the Y’s work in our local community.
The keynote address with be presented by Rockford native, Johnny Agar, who will talk about his journey participating in races, while being an athlete with cerebral palsy. Johnny Agar, with his father Jeff, has participated in more than 20 5Ks, 10Ks, and 25Ks, six marathons, a half Ironman Triathlon, and the Ironman World Championship Triathlon. At the event, Agar will share his story and how the Y has played a role in his training and has helped him grow.
The Hour of Impact event is a fundraiser for the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids, which takes on the challenges that shape the future health and well-being of Grand Rapids. Through the Y’s facilities and community outreach initiatives, they focus on addressing childhood obesity, improving academic achievement, inspiring healthy living, developing our youth, strengthening our community and much more.
