Engineer an Animal

In partnership with the Van Andel Institute for Education, we are offering this Mobile Classroom Field Trip.

From webbed feet to snapping teeth, all animals are uniquely adapted to their environments. In this engaging activity, your child will explore various habitats and the adaptations that help animals thrive in them.

They will start by understanding the diverse needs of animals and how these needs vary across different environments. They’ll observe live animals, making careful observations of their traits and behaviors. With this knowledge, your child will then unleash their creativity by designing a completely new animal, tailored to thrive in a specific habitat with its own unique adaptations.
