James is a National Academy of Sports Science Certified Personal Trainer at the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids. James retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of Honorable Service where he learned extensive leadership, health, and fitness techniques. While serving our country, James earned a Bachelor of Science in Sports and Health Sciences from the American Military University. This degree is affiliated with the guidelines of the American Sport Education Program. The combination of military service and education will help you get the results you aim to achieve.

James believes in the scientific study of human movement and human behavior relative to exercise, fitness, nutrition, health, and wellness. James engages in core issues and concepts in areas such as anatomy and physiology, nutrition, kinesiology, and exercise programming and testing. He focuses on providing results based on scientific evidence and principles that progress an individual.
