Matthew is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He achieved his Bachelors in Exercise Science from GVSU with an emphasis on Health & Fitness Instruction. Throughout his lifting career, Matthew has experienced almost every style of training – from cardiovascular to Olympic weightlifting to HIIT to yoga. Although Matthew first started lifting in the 7th grade, he fully embraced lifting once he competed in powerlifting and won a state medal. Matthew is devoted to using a variety of exercise types to help prevent injuries and enhance results.
Matthew is passionate about helping YMCA members achieve their goals in order to live their best lives. For him, it’s his mission to share the knowledge he has gained in order to help empower others.
