This program is designed for people who are seeking a healthier weight and who want support as they set and achieve goals. We offer a small group setting where you can connect, learn and improve your health together.
YMCA Weight Loss Program is included with your Y membership and available at most YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids locations.

THE TOOLS YOU NEED
YMCA Weight Loss Program takes a holistic approach to health and weight management. In the 10 week program, you’ll gain awareness about your unique nutrition and fitness needs in two one-hour weekly group sessions. We will begin and finish the program by measuring your body composition (BIA) with a fitness tool that can help you assess your overall fitness & learn how much water, muscle, fat and lean mass your body is carrying.
We will cover common obstacles and successful, sustained weight-loss, fitness planning and nutrition information. Each session will consist of 15 minutes of education and diet planning with support from our Registered Dietitian, and 45 minutes of exercise which is led by a Y Personal Trainer.
WE’RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER
You are not in this alone. You’ll be joined by a small group of others just like you, who will support and motivate you to reach your goals, encourage you through challenges, and celebrate successes along the way! Making change can be hard to do alone. Groups provide accountability and support. Build awareness about what works for you while in a supportive community.
This program provides helpful strategies to incorporate nutrition and physical activity into your lifestyle, while also addressing motivation, obstacles and pitfalls that make losing weight and keeping it off such a challenge.

The program is open to Y members only. You must be at least 18 years old to participate. A $100 deposit is required to register but will be refunded upon completion of at least 15 of 20 sessions.
