Coming soon!
The new Greenville Regional YMCA
We’re currently preparing to break ground on our renovated and expanded Greenville facility. When we reopen to the community, we’ll have grown from 15,000 square feet to more than 40,000 square feet, with a new track, pool, splash pad, exercise equipment, group fitness classes, and community space.
The new facility will also bring something few communities this size have: on-site healthcare through partnerships with Cherry Health and Corewell Health.
The Greenville Regional YMCA is for everyone: it’s a place for kids to learn to swim and make friends, for parents to work out while their kids are safely cared for, and for older adults to stay active and connected to their neighbors.
We’ll share periodic updates throughout the journey via email and our social media channels.
Group fitness classes continue, while we build
Your Y community is still here! During construction, we will continue to offer group fitness programming at two nearby locations: Frugthaven Farm and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Belding. For full facility access—pool, gym, KidZone—your membership also covers all seven other YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids locations.
If you’re already a Greenville member: no action is needed. Your membership continues automatically at the interim rate of $20/month.
New to the Y? Join us during construction for $20/month, or drop into a class with an individual pass for $12.

JULIE STAFFORD
JULIE STAFFORD
Julie Stafford is a Greenville native and lifelong fitness
enthusiast who has a passion for helping to build healthy
communities. During her tenure as publisher of The Daily
News, she focused her time and philanthropy on projects that
benefited youth and that inspired hope for those struggling
to see their light. Since moving “home” in 2012, Julie has had
a dream of bringing a place where families ages 0 to 100 could
come together and be active to Greenville.
Julie retired in May, but she continues to stay plugged into
her community and is thrilled to help bring her long-held
dream to life as chair of the YMCA Greenville Capital Campaign
Leadership Team. Most recently, Julie served as co-chair
of Montcalm Community College’s “Transforming Lives,
Empower People” capital campaign committee and she is
a board member of United Way Montcalm-Ionia Counties
and the Greenville Rotary Club. In 2021, she took part in a
regional fundraising challenge and became the Leukemia &
Lymphoma Society’s West Michigan Woman of the Year, setting
a fundraising record for the organization.
Julie and her husband Tom Rowland are working to grow
their lavender and Christmas tree farm in Morley, with hopes
of inviting visitors to Peaceful Valley Farms LLC starting in
the summer of 2024. She enjoys walking, hiking, gardening, reading and finding new ways to express her creativity.
